傳神在今年5月份开办剪发班，目前有8位义工积极响应，并参与为期10个星期的理发课程。傳神开设新课程的主要目的是为了关爱老人的仪容世界，以及透过造型师Rovin的细心教导，把这8位义工打造成“爱心理发师”！
为了解决弱势长者理发问题，傳神将在今年9月份正式提供免费理发服务于武吉巴督的居民。通过这样的义剪善举，走入老人的生活，借此提高大众对老人的关注。
秉持“一不做，二不休”的精神，义剪天使们在10个星期的培训课程中用心学习剪发基本功。从剪发基本认识、头发技术图解、工具应用、剪发手势、剪发技巧到造型设计等，他们都表现出专业的学习精神，势必要为老人们理出个好看、整齐的发型。
理发课程的灵魂人物——造型设计师Rovin更是不遗余力，亲自授课，行善态度绝不马虎。他热心地设计了这套理发课程，让义工们在短时间内掌握剪发要素，好为老人服务。
不管是年轻人或是年长者都应该注意个人卫生，把自己打扮整齐。相信亲切且拥有整齐形象的银发族，必受同辈与晚辈们的欢迎。
造型师Rovin谈慈善理发
推广义剪活动的源来。。。。。。
从前，我们发廊公司都会举办一年两次至三次的义剪活动。碍于工作的关系，我们无法安排时间每个月为老人剪头发，因此我觉得这些活动还不算真正的照顾到我们的年长者。
认识傳神已有三年多。我每年都会受邀参与傳神举办的活动，如：毕业典礼、案例分享和演唱会等。对于义工们的服务精神和老人的真心分享，常常让我觉得十分感动。在一次毕业典礼上我独自思考，我到底能为这些老人做些什么？
新加坡人口老化的问题越来越严重，而剪头发也是老人的需求和时常面对的问题。于是我想培训义工成为“爱心理发师”，走出去服务更多有需要的老人。很多老人基于心理问题（心里郁闷不想出门）、生理问题（行动不便）或金钱问题（想省钱）而不出外剪发，结果潦草的头发不但不容易打理，还影响了仪容。
有了“爱心理发师”，义工们可以上门为老人剪发。老人有了整齐的头发自然比较有自信，自己也感觉特别舒服和有精神，子孙们也乐于接触，你说仪容对他们来说是不是很重要。
老人如何保持仪容整洁？
老人适合把头发剪短，因为简短的头发让人感觉比较舒服和干净。除此之外，老年人也面对发质不好，头发稀疏等问题，因此我也建议他们为了方便打理起见，剪个短发比较妥当。
10个星期的剪发课程不但让“爱心理发师”掌握了剪发要素，他们同时也具备创意与时尚感，能为老人理出一个与众不同的发型。我对他们很有信心。

Concern & Care Society started hair cutting classes in May 2009. About eight volunteers responded positively to participate in a 10-week hair cutting course. In order to do his part to improve the elderly’s appearance, image consultant, hairstylist, photographer and trainer Rovin takes great effort to turn these eight volunteers into “True Heart Hair Dresser”!
Concern & Care Society provides free haircut services as a way to show their concern for the community. In the process of acquiring hair cutting knowledge, the volunteers attending the “True Heart Hair Dresser” course has shown patience and effort.
Rovin personally coached the class. His enthusiasm and passion were displayed through the quality he maintained while providing haircut services. Through his well-designed training course, he had successfully trained volunteers to become qualified hair dressers within short period of time.
Concern & Care Society believes that a high standard of personal cleanliness must be maintained. All elderly are expected to present neat and clean appearance because that would give people a better impression.
Conversation with Image Consultant Rovin about Charity Hair Cutting
The reason for promoting charity hair cutting
We participated in several major hair cutting events for the elderly. However, due to busy schedule, we are not able to provide hair cut services every month.
Every year I am invited to participate in Concern & Care Society’s events, such as the graduation ceremony and concerts. I was touched every time the elderly shared their stories on the stage and I started to think what I should do to help them.
Singapore faces the problem of ageing population and I believe the elderly are facing difficulties with hair cutting. With that in mind, I started “True Heart Hair Dresser” courses to serve old people in the community. Due to psychological problems (those who feel depressed to go out), physical problems (lack of mobility) or financial problems (those who want to save money), many elderly do not go out for haircut. This could affect their appearance and image.
With the help of “True Heart Hair Dresser”, the elderly can ask for haircut services at their homes or join hair cutting session every Thursday. Elderly who have neat hair should feel more confident and comfortable; they are also welcomed by their grandchildren.
How to maintain clean and tidy appearance among elderly?
The elderly should keep their hair short and tidy because they usually have sparse and unhealthy hair. Therefore, I would suggest them to keep their hair as short as possible.
The 10-week course will not only train “True Heart Hair Dresser” to master basic hair cutting techniques, they will also be equipped with skills to create a presentable hairstyle. I am confident that they can do it.
